Genetic Testing

GeneSight Testing: Personalized Medication Insights

Take the guesswork out of finding the right medication for your mental health treatment with GeneSight Testing. This cutting-edge pharmacogenomic test helps your healthcare provider make informed decisions about medications based on your unique genetic makeup.

What is GeneSight Testing?

GeneSight is a genetic test that analyzes clinically important variations in your DNA. It provides insights into how you may metabolize or respond to medications commonly prescribed for conditions such as:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • ADHD

  • Bipolar disorder

  • Other psychiatric conditions

The goal of GeneSight testing is to identify medications that may work best for you while minimizing potential side effects or adverse reactions.

How Does GeneSight Testing Work?

  1. Simple Cheek Swab: The test involves a non-invasive cheek swab that can be completed in a few minutes.

  2. Lab Analysis: Your DNA sample is sent to GeneSight's certified lab for analysis.

  3. Results for Your Provider: Within 1-2 days, your healthcare provider will receive a comprehensive report categorizing medications into:

    • Green: Medications likely to work well as prescribed.

    • Yellow: Medications that may require adjustments.

    • Red: Medications with significant gene-drug interactions.

  4. Personalized Treatment Plan: Your provider will use these results, along with other clinical factors, to create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Why Consider GeneSight Testing?

  • Customized Care: No more trial-and-error with medications.

  • Faster Relief: Helps your provider find the right medication sooner.

  • Reduced Side Effects: Identifies medications that may be less likely to cause adverse reactions.

Who Can Benefit from GeneSight?

GeneSight testing is ideal for individuals who:

  • Have struggled to find effective medications for mental health conditions.
